Well finally making some real progress. I am determined to have her on the road for IOW. I have had a few hiccups, for example I bought a nice chrome centre stand only to find that a standard stand will note fit the really late vijays. I managed to find a new one but that is only one of many differences. Still can use that on the next one. I managed to spot the other differences before paying out. I can almost hear her

That’s looking good so far Phil I can’t wait to see it on the road, that back rest is like an arm chair I am thinking you’re not the tallest of people so you won’t get the benefit from it but I am sure your pillion will be comfy.

Thanks for the kind remarks. Yes being a bit of stumpy does cause a few challenges but I can touch the road with my toes on the Burgman. Arron when the backrest folds forward its really good

Well not quite on the road. sorry Bryno I know you said a week but its close. Its amazing what difference a week makes. Getting to the end of the dirty jobs. I have got the electric string to contend with but looks like it could just make IOW

Looks bloody lovely Phil, will be nice to see another classic make it back onto the road,
I see you haven't cabled or harnessed it up yet? I always make that the first job before I fit anything else, makes life so much easier later on in the build. I am sure you have a plan though. Good luck with the rest of the project

Hi Gaz

Totally agree with you on the wiring but I have spent countless hours trying to work out what to do with it.
I have done dozens of rebuilds in the old days and usually I just buy a loom follow the diagram and everything works.
I have found a number of wiring diagrams and have bought two looms but so far I have been unable to match them up.
I think I could get the headset end to work but I have five wires coming from the stator. red, grey, green, light brown and dark brown. non of the diagrams has this and just dont know whats what. Think the green is ignition.
I have tried lcgb forum but the concensus there is get a casa loom and junk the five wire stator. I am reluctant to do that as although most of the wiring was incomplete when I got her, it did run and must have been working with that stator.
Sure I will get to the bottom of it but it is a bit frustrating,
I can fix millions of pounds worth of aeroplane and an indian GP gives me grief.
She does look pretty though.
