Where to start? Got into the scene when I was about 15 after watching some film about Mod's and Rockers, the name of the movie escapes me now but I would love the chance of seeing it again. Hung around with the bigger boy's because they all had scooters and would often blag a back seat and cruise around my home town thinking I was the mutts nut's. (In truth probably looked like a right cock) Turned 16 and bought my first scoot, a Vespa 50 Special no less, got a bit bored with 25 mph so found a 100 engine complete with 3 speed box and was soon scooting around at the dizzy speeds of 50mph (Down hill), Then came my 17th birthday and my full bike license, you must remember that we are now in the early 80's and you could pretty much swap any old scoot you wanted for 10 Number 6 and a can of Red Stripe, so loads of scooters came and went, if they broke down you just threw it behind a hedge got a back seat home and "obtained" another scoot. I did buy a brand new P2 for going to work on, A178MVS where are you now? But my pride and joy was a 73 Jet 200 with a full on AF 225, 30mm Delly and reverse cone clubman. (Breathed on a bit more by my old fella) I am a little bit older and wiser now and much prefer to scoot around at a much more leisurely pace, so pictured you will see my current whip a 1963 Lammy LI125 with a bit of father to son taught tuning to give it some legs for modern road speeds.
